Our mission is to help families navigate the complex path to becoming a college athlete at the highest level. Our program provides guidance on decision making, steps to take, gaining exposure, and understanding the complex recruiting landscape. With our expertise and support, we make the journey to college athletics more accessible and less overwhelming.
About Us
Five Star University is led by Anthony Wright and Kevin Bruinsma.
Anthony Wright is from one of the most athletically concentrated areas in the world; the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area (DMV). After being discovered in middle school, his athletic journey eventually took him to Oak Hill Academy, one of the top prep schools in the country. At Oak Hill he won national championships, became nationally ranked, and garnered countless D1 scholarship offers before heading to the University of Michigan on a full ride. His passion for sports and his expertise as a content creator allow him to provide invaluable guidance to families across the nation.
Kevin Bruinsma is a former two-sport collegiate athlete who has won a national championship in basketball, and was named Most Valuable Player in soccer. He has coached 10 years at the D1 level all across the country. On top of that, he served as a summer intern in the NBA for the Orlando Magic, and is currently a High School Varsity Head Coach. His extensive network of connections, and relationships built over years in the profession has proven instrumental in helping families navigate the recruitment process.

What’s at stake
Up until 2022, high school athletes aimed to earn full ride scholarships and play in front of large crowds, with the goal of securing a free college education and athletic experience. Now, with the legalization of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights, athletes can also earn substantial income by endorsing luxury brands, magazines, and other high-profile companies.
